Pleasant View Car Show 2009.

Gearhead Geek attended the Pleasant View Car Show.

This is a good charity event for the benefit of the Pleasant View, Tennessee, Volunteer Fire Department. Gearhead Geek entered the "I Hate New", 1949 Chevy.

The Classic Car Show was held on Saturday, July 25th at the First Baptist Church. The church is located at 2555 Hwy 49 East.

The show is open to Originals, Modified, Trucks, Street Rods, Muscle Cars and Motorcycles.

Awards go to the Top 50 and there are also some specialty trophies, like Best Paint.

There are a lot of activities that go on around the Car Show. There was a parade at 10:00 that the car show attendees could participate in. The Fire Department had a Food Tent with Barbeque and all the trimmings. We ate there and the food was very good. Beside the Car Show was a playground with inflated slides and fun happenings for the kids. At Balthrop Park there was an Adult Softball Tournament. If that wasn't enough there was also a Live Auction and an Automotive Vendor Row.

This was our first time here and also the first Car Show that the 1949 was entered in. We really enjoyed this Car Show and plan to attend every year. It is a fun event and the proceeds go to a good cause.

We did not win any awards but we did not expect to. The closest we got was a chance to win a certificate towards the purchase of a Painless Wiring Harness. It was for people that had cars "under construction" which definitely included us.
