Cruisin The Ridge 2009
Gearhead Geek attended the 10th Annual Cruisin The Ridge Cruise-In.
This event is put on by the First Baptist Church, in Joelton, Tn. The trip is about 35 miles for our IH8NEW (I Hate New), 1949 Styeline.
The Cruise-In was held on Saturday, October 3rd in the church parking lot.
The show is open to Originals, Modified, Trucks, Street Rods, Motorcycles, Special Interest and Muscle Cars.
There was several good things going on at this event. There was a silent auction, NSRA Safety Inspections, Vendor area, 1950s' Music, Food and Awards.
This was the first Cruise-In that we have attended that was also like a car show because they had judging and gave out awards and trophies. If you registered and had your hood and trunk open as well as your windows down then you were judged. Awards and Trophies were given to the Top 20, Best Motorcycle, Club Choice, Pastors' Choice, Peoples' Choice, Ladys' Pick and Special Interest.
In addition they gave away a lot of door prizes. It had to be thousands of dollars worth in prizes. Some very nice items were given away.
This was a surprise because there was no entry or admission fee. They did accept donations and we were happy to give to support this event.
With an estimated 200 vehicles in attendance there was plenty to look at. The weather was sunny and cool with a constant breeze. Some said that it was a little too cool but we found it perfect.
We plan to attend this event again next year.
Cruise through the pictures below to see some of the cars at this event that caught our eye.
